Additional Information About The Public Messaging System
Coaches that would like to invite relatives, friends, etc. to observe their child’s progress during the Tourney in the stadium can do so. After checking the progress, these observers have the option of sending a message to the participant. Parents or coaches may also use this message system to tell their children how proud they are of them or tell them about a special treat for their child's efforts. To send a message for an individual participant, the observer needs to know that student’s first use ID#. These ID#s should only be shared with people whom the coach believes will send messages that will not have a negative impact on the participant.
ALL MESSAGES SENT THROUGH THE PUBLIC SYSTEM WILL BE REVIEWED BY TOURNEY ADMINISTRATION BEFORE SENDING IT ON TO THE PARTICIPANT. The reason for this review is that students' IDs may be accidentally or purposely given to someone who may want to send a message which has inappropriate language or hurtful comments. This is not to say that all messages that are not positive will be deleted. Messages will only be deleted if Edugeeks believes the comment or message is INAPPROPRIATE OR HURTFUL. Edugeeks reserves the right to make the decisions regarding which messages will be sent or deleted on a case by case basis. If a participant/coach feels that Edugeeks is acting inappropriately in deleting a message, we would like to hear about it through our Feedback Link in the Communications Menu.
Participants, after log-in, will see the blimp over the stadium indicating there are new messages waiting for them. Students then link to a separate page which has these messages. When on that page, students have the opportunity to read all new and old messages. When returning to the stadium page, the blimp will display that there are no new messages to be read.
Instructions on how to view progress and send a message using the system are located in this section and on the FAQ page. They can be cut and pasted along with your child's 1st Use I.D.# into an e-mail that can be sent to people whom you feel would want to come to the stadium periodically to check your child's progress. If you have given an ID# to someone whom you would rather not have it, or know of someone that has received it whom you don’t want to have it, you can resind their opportunity to view progress by emailing Karin Musolf at karinmusolf@yahoo.com. Karin is working for Edugeeks as a School Liason Employee. She will then issue your child a new 1st use ID # and password. |
